Firstly, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) for giving me this opportunity to conduct and complete my industrial training over the last 3 months. In addition, I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all the friendly and helpful staffs in the SBC, especially to those staff that have taught me a lot of knowledge and hand on skills.
My intention to have my training at SBC was right after a site visit during my third year study. During the 3 months industrial training, I have been attached to different laboratories such as Plant Preparation, Extraction and Molecular Biology. Each laboratory has their own role. As in Extraction lab, the ground plant samples (either in mixtures, leaves, stem or other form) from Plant Preparation lab will be sent to the lab for the plant extraction by using combination of different chemical solvents. From there, I had learned a lot on hands on skill.
In my opinion, instead of only educational knowledge and hand on skills, we also learned about interpersonal relationship. I am really glad that the SBC has been my first choice to conduct my industrial training when making the selection for industrial training placement as I have learned a lot of new things and met with new friends. Therefore, SBC is a recommended place for doing your industrial training and future working due to the ideal working environment in SBC and the systematic management.
Lastly, I would like to convey my sincere gratitude and appreciation again to my family, friends and all of the SBC staff and wishing you all the best in the future.
