In line with SBC’s development path towards digital transformation, the facility is integrated with monitoring system, embracing the Internet of Things (IoT) technology to provide real-time monitoring of growth conditions such as pH, temperature, and light intensity as well as regulate the variables through automatic operations such as temperature cooling.
The device is equipped with sensors to monitor the health and growth of microalgae such as pH, temperature, light intensity and automates operations such as temperature cooling and gas supply, which in turn reduces human intervention in monitoring the growth of algae and therefore reduces operational cost.
This is a collaborative effort from the partnership between SBC and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
