
The Sarawak Biodiversity Centre is a Sarawak State Statutory Agency under the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD). Its Council Members who provide policy advice and directions are appointed by the State Cabinet. The Council comprises of:
the Chairman who is the Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) of Sarawak
the Deputy Chairman who is the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Sarawak
the State Attorney General
the State Financial Secretary
the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development
the Director of Economic Planning Unit, Sarawak, Department of the Premier Sarawak
the Director of the Forests
the Director of Agriculture Department
the Controller of the Natural Resources and Environment board
members appointed from the academia, industry
the Chief Executive Officer of SBC as Secretary to the Council
The Centre, overseen by its CEO is made up of the following divisions:
- Corporate Affairs comprising of the Administrative & Assets Section, the Regulatory and Quality Assurance Section, Human Resource Section, the Corporate Communications Section and the Finance Section.
- Research and Development comprising of the Extraction, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, Plant Tissue Culture and Bioinformatics laboratories.
- Innovation and Commercialisation comprising of the Product Development laboratory, Bioindustrial Park & Bioprocess Commercial Centre, and Marketing & Business Development Section.
