This year’s theme, “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods,” feels especially close to home for us.
The Sarawak Tribune feature published today, 3rd March 2026 titled "How Indigenous Wisdom is Shaping Sarawaks's Biowealth", captures something we see every day at SBC — that our forests are not just green spaces, but living knowledge passed down through generations of Indigenous communities.
Our work revolves around documenting this traditional knowledge, validating it through research, and making sure any development of natural products is done responsibly through Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS).
Over the past 25 years, SBC has also built and curated its Natural Products Library — a growing collection of plant extracts and biological resources that supports ongoing research and discovery.
