A talk on Green Hydrogen from Biomass

Komiyama PublicTalk Res 01

On 29 November 2022, Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) will be hosting a talk entitled “Green Hydrogen from Biomass” at Integrated Biodiversity Research Building (IBRB), Sarawak Biodiversity Centre. The talk will be delivered by Professor Dr. Masaharu Komiyama, from Chemical Engineering Department and Center for Biofuel and Biochemical Research, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. His research interests focus on Catalysis and Physical Chemistry.

Prof. Dr. Komiyama will give a talk on green hydrogen produced through carbon neutral route, the feedstocks used, and the possible technologies involved for green hydrogen production. Details of each process will be described and compared, along with the possibility of utilizing biomass as a hydrogen carrier. Based on the current hydrogen value chain, possible quantum that could be supplied from biomass for sustainable and renewable energy will be discussed and addressed during the talk.
