Position 1:

Research Officer (Research and Development Programme), Q41 
Contract (2 years) - 3 Posts

Salary Schedule: Q41

Product Development - 1 post

  • Develop prototype products from research
  • Manage and implement research, product innovation, product formulation and proof of concept
  • Responsible for quality control of products to meet required regulatory standards
  • Manage production and inventory
  • Knowledgeable in healthcare products

Ethno Biological Research - 1 post

  • Lead projects related to Ethno Biological Research
  • Organize and implement consultative meetings and field trips
  • Responsible for documentation and collection of plants
  • Responsible for plant taxonomy and identification
  • Responsible for the plant propagation activities

LitSara® project - 1 post

  • Organize and implement consultative meetings and dialogues with communities
  • Lead a project on sustainable production of community-based plants
  • Responsible for establishment of facilities and community farms at the villages
  • Organize and implement capacity building workshops and field trips on collection, propagation, inventory and documentation of plants
  • Implement essential oil distillation training with communities

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree (CGPA of 3.0 and above) preferably Master's Degree (CGPA of 3.0 and above) or PhD in Science, Biotechnology, Botany, Natural Product Development, Chemistry or other related field or equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Government
  • Credit (at least Grade C) in Bahasa Melayu subject at SPM/SVM/MCE level
  • Have good command of English language (spoken and written)
  • Preferably 1-3 years of experience in related field
  • Must be physically fit, able to travel and work outdoors

Position 2:

Research Assistant (Research and Development Programme), Q19
Contract (2 years) - 7 Posts

Salary Schedule: Q19

Q19  1,355.00 4,007.00  100.00 

Microalgae - 6 posts

  • Assist in Algae Cultivation Facility and Algae Production Facility located at two sites (Semengoh and Sejingkat, Kuching)
  • Responsible for equipment, fertilizers, reagents, consumable and glassware management at the site
  • Perform routine and regular monitor and maintenance of culture
  • Perform minor repairs at the production facility under supervision of research officer/technical specialist

Analytical Chemistry - 1 post

  • Assist in setting up a GMP certified facility
  • Assist in operating and maintaining equipment under GMP project
  • Assist in in-house formulation and data collection
  • Assist in extraction, isolation and fractionation of compounds
  • In-charge of monitoring the assets, glassware, chemical and scheduled waste
  • Ensure cleanliness and good housekeeping

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a SPM/SVM/MCE certificate or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government
  • Credit (at least Grade C) in Bahasa Malaysia subject at SPM/SVM/MCE level
  • Have good command of English language (spoken and written)
  • Computer literate i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and email
  • Must be physically fit, able to travel and work outdoors
