	Job Title:
	Senior Research Officer (Natural Product Chemist)

The successful candidate will be expected to:
1) Develop research programmes on natural products discovery.
2) Possess technical skills in method development, characterization and purification of bioactive compounds from plant and microbial natural products. It also includes designing, performing, validating natural product compounds, interpreting scientific data, implementation, operation and maintenance of spectrometric instruments. Skills in structure elucidation using NMR are necessary.
3) The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge in the field of natural products and bioactive compound isolation. He/She is expected to train other staff in analytical research.

Qualification:
Candidate must have a PhD. in medicinal/analytical chemistry or equivalent field with emphasis on natural products with at least 10 years of related experience in this field.

	Job Title:
	Senior Research Officer (Molecular Biologist)

The successful candidate will be expected to:
1) Develop biossays for isolating bioactive compounds against molecular targets/diseases.
2) Possess technical skills in cloning, designing experiments, DNA and protein handling, manipulation, analytical detection, performing enzymatic experiments, ELISA and cell tissue culture.
3) The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge and understanding in the field of molecular signalling pathways and drug discovery and development. He/She is expected to train other staff in molecular work.

Qualification:
Candidate must have a PhD. in molecular biology/biochemistry or equivalent field with emphasis on determining molecular pathways induced by bioactive compounds. He/she must have at least 10 years of related experience in this field.

	Job Title:
	Lab Technician

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for laboratory work including conducting laboratory experiments under the supervision of a research officer, routine laboratory work and maintenance of lab equipment.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a recognised diploma/certificate in science.
Candidates with lab experience will be preferred.

	Job Title:
	Research Assistant

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to assist research officers in routine laboratory work processes including washing glasswares, preparation of media and reagents.

Qualification:
Candidates must be a science student and possess a pass in SPM.
Candidates with lab experience will be preferred.

	Job Title:
	Fresh Graduate Traineeship

Fresh graduates in the field of biotechnology/microbiology/chemistry (phyto and analytical) or equivalent fields are encouraged to apply for SBC's fresh graduate traineeship to gain the technical experience and learn to work in a research environment.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be trained in the lab for up to 1-year in handling lab equipment and perform experiments under the supervision of a research officer. He or she will be taught technical scientific writing and oral presentation.

Qualifications:
Candidate must have a graduate degree in science related to the field above and a CGPA of 3.0 and above.

	Job Title:
	Communications Officer

The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Organize and conduct awareness programmes for SBC target audiences.
2. Organize conferences, workshops, and dialogue sessions
3. Write, coordinate and carry out preparation of publications and promotional materials (press release, posters, brochures, fact sheet etc) on SBC’s programmes.
4. Liaison with the mass media & other agencies.

Qualification:
Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications or related fields with proficiency in the English language (spoken and written). Ability to communicate and write in other languages such as Malay and Mandarin is an advantage. Possess skills in graphic design. Ability to proactively interact with all type of professionals and at all levels of society will be highly regarded.
